Everything, the location was the best and the views were magical. I would stay a thousand more times there. Had an experience of a lifetime.

The only thing that wasn't very good was we had no hot water in our room the first night however the hotel staff did get on to it right away.

The outlook. The distance from the town was no problem as we had a car. No hustle and bustle.

Location to weekend event. Upgrade to room with a view was unexpected and appreciated. View was exceptional.

Good service, and good experience overall. No complaints at all... Staff is friendly, location is suitable as it's in close proximity to the city center and is about 15 mins walk in amazing queens town.

Affordable cost, the outlook is beautiful - especially whilst dinning.

    Inadequate television channels

    The View was amazing

The room was a bit shabby and the bed was not comfortable as there was a ridge in the middle. I do understand the room was cheap but the bathroom hadn't been cleaned, the shower was useless and the tissue box attached to the wall was falling off. Unhygenic

Great value for the room we had. Beautiful view of Lake Wakatipu. The Connectabus comes through to get you into town which is a definite bonus

Fernhill is a bit of a walk home if you want to head back after midnight

the view was stunning and the hotel was good value

rooms overdue for a redecorate and bed quite saggy.

    The view was great.

The extremely outdated decor (including yellow bath). The substandard state of the bathroom and fittings including the shower curtain which was mouldy. The smell which came from the extraction unit every time you turned the light on. Cracks in ceilings and rooms which had not been maintained. Normal sized cups with oversized saucers that obviously did not match. Lack of parking, we ended up having to park overnight on the road. Extremely disappointing overall. This would be the most run down accommodation we have ever stayed in which is such a shame considering the stunning location and views.

Hayden, the receptionist was great. He made us feel extremely comfortable and was very helpful when we were deciding which attractions to see. I would stay there again just to be able to chat with him.

The bar closed a little early for our liking!

the view from the dining room tasty Sat dinner special easy internet access

a pair of underpants in the corner - missed by cleaning staff after previous guests

The room was really nice and comfortable. lovely and clean when we arrived. The view from the restaurant area was priceless.

Helpful, friendly staff. Quiet and not in the main part of Queenstown, reasonable rates

the view was amazing and the staff were very friendly.

i think it maybe a good idea to update some of the TVs and mattresses

booked a lake facing room and that was the best I could do. If I would have had to stay at the courtyard facing room it would have not been worth the money at all. with the lake facing we had a great view any time of the day. you need a car to go to town, it is just too far and too steep to walk back. did not try the restaurant. they charge for the internet but at least you have the chance to use it. the staff is a bit chaotic - the lady at the bar so is very friendly. rooms are clean but design is very old style and used. I would only recommend the hotel because of the view from the terrace of the room

the beds are too soft. we booked a room for two persons and got a room with a double bed and one single bed. we booked two single nights as our travel plans had changed and we decided to stay a second night - that was too much for the reception when we checked out - they got totally confused. hope the really just charged for two nights now ;-)
